Currently there are insufficicient restaurants to meet demand during the winter season in Hakuba. Most restaurants and cafes are in Echoland or Happo, with some in the station area. Most do not take phone or in person reservations due to recurring “No shows”, so it can be hard to secure a table. It is not uncommon for there to be lengthy queues half hour before opening time, even during freezing blizzards. However, thankfully many restaurants are now on the TableCheck website which allows you to pre-book a table. You will need to enter your card details and if you fail to show a percentage fee is charged. The other way of finding restaurants and cafes is of course by using google maps which allows you to see reviews, menus etc. Getting to restaurants use, an uber, taxi, loop bus or just walk it!
