HAKUBA SKI RESORTS Happo Goryu Hakuba 47 Cortina Iwatake Tsugaike Norikura Kashimayari Sanosaka
Japan
Specialists in Hakuba Ski Holidays
Tsugaike   is   a   very   large   resort   and   is   especially   good for   beginners   and   intermediates.   The   beginners   area at   the   base   of   the   resort   is   so   big   it   is   actually   bigger in   size   than   the   whole   of   many   other   ski   resorts   in Japan.    Up    top,    there    are    steeper    runs    suiting intermediates,   but   it   lacks   the   mogul   runs   and   steep runs   of   some   of   the   other   resorts.   It   is   usually   less crowded   than   the   other   major   ski   resorts   being   a   little further away from the action. Tsugaike   also   has   a   great   snow   park   with   some   big hits   to   be   had   and   lots   of   rails   to   play   with.   No   half pipe though.

Tsuga Pow Double Black Diamond Tree run

Tsugaike   now   have   a   great   tree   run   area   off   the   top of   the   mountain.   It   requires   you   to   register   and   listen to   a   short   lecture.   You   can   then   enter   the   area   via one of the 4 gates. See this page for more info .

Places to stay

Whilst   there   is   quite   a   range   of   places   to   stay   be warned   that   it   is   rather   isolated   and   there   are   few places   to   eat   off   the   mountain.   As   well   the   only   way to   get   to   other   resorts   is   by   the   Hakuba   Valley   Bus system .   For   this   reason   it   is   recommended   you   have your   own   vehicle   if   you   do   stay   here.   Here   is   a   list    of the many places to stay in Tsugaike.
